Delta Airlines #Instatripscontest

Melbourne city to the streets of Los Angeles.

This was definitely another one of those projects whereas it is all just kinda surreal. Back when I painted the OG‘Melbourne’ Mural I never thought that it would ever gain so much attention let alone it being 1 of 3 murals handpicked by Wieden+Kennedy(Which is one of the world’s largest and leading agencies) for an international campaign with one of America’s(and the world’s) largest airlines, Delta Airlines.

The ‘Delta InstaTrips Contest’ was celebrating 3x artworks from 3 different artists, from 3x different parts of the world - with an Instagram-based competition for residents of Los Angeles to WIN 2x return tickets to the city of where their favourite artwork was originally created.

How did it work? W+K worked with LA’s premier street art agency, Colossal Media to replicate all 3x murals in prime LA spots - for for Angelenos to find and snap a picture in front of to enter the comp. Shok-1 was representing London, Nacho Bernal was his native Mexicoand I was representing Australia. My work was re-created on the world-famous, Melrose Avenue.

Once the murals were re-created it was time to head to LA to officially launch the campaign! The themed even was based around our 3 nationalities - which included English, Mexican and Australia food trucks, bars and bands. It was so much fun and such great experience. That said, I’d like to thank W+K, Delta and everyone that came out to show support and celebrate with us - I felt it and had the best time.
