TRAVELER TATTOO
I was humbled to have Myke Chambers reach out to me about painting his new shop, Traveler Tattoo in beautiful Asheville, North Carolina. Myke is without a doubt, one of America’s most prolific and pioneering ‘American Traditional Tattooers’ - so it was cool for me for the opportunity to represent him - and his trust in doing so.
I also loved the concept of fusing American Traditional with the classic ‘postcard’ style artwork - so had an absolute blast on this project - even though my tight deadline mean’t that I’d be working huge days and into the nights, surrounded by the crazies …which at the same time also made it more interesting, fun and memorable. I also met a hedgehog which was cool.
I wasn’t originally going to paint the front (signage and ground) but opportunity knocked and I knocked it out in my last 24 hours …in the damn rain.
The mural quickly created buzz around town and has been featured in a bunch of local newspapers and blogs - including AVL today dubbing it “One of the top Instagrammable spots in Asheville”
