STAY GOLD
After the success of our first ‘venue takeover’ at The Brightside (Brisbane), I was engaged to do the same at the sister-venue, Stay Gold in Brunswick, Melbourne. The brief was to transform the old, weathered and worn-out ground level of the building and giving Stay Gold a brand new and instantly recognisable look and feel. The design was to include key Jack Daniel’s branding and appeal to both the patrons and Brunswick community as a whole.
Fast forward a couple of months, I was back to do the same to the upper-level of the main side of the building - which turned out to be 1 to remember for 2 reasons:
1. Upon closer inspection the top of the building was in far worse shape than we hoped so it required a few days of heavy restoration work - scraping back/removing/patching old paint and render before we could even start
2. As my partner was heavily pregnant at the time, I called in my friend Callum Warren to help me so I could finish a day early to surprise her. I caught the last flight home 2 days before deadline and woke up to her waters breaking the following morning… and I haven’t caught up on sleep yet haha
