POURHOUSE
Would I be interested in heading to Wilmington, North Carolina to paint a small dive bar? Hell yeah I would. I had never been before either - so was super fun - that Joe got me back a few years later to repaint the venue again.
The first trip was 2019. The bar was looking tired so the goal was to get as much colour and personality in there whilst it was closed over a couple of days. After the bar I painted the Pourhouse Van (see below)
I was back in 2022 to repaint - but this time worked with Joe ahead of time to help him with details on renovations (replacing the bottom metal trim, adding new lighting, re-sheeting the restrooms and generally cleaning the venue up) to ensure it would align and compliment the new black and grey artwork and branding. The rebrand also included some merch designs. Whilst in town I also painted the sister-venue, The Eagle’s Dare (see below)
POURHOUSE - 2019
Given the tight deadline for this I went with aerosol to allow me to cover as much ground/walls as possible.
POURHOUSE - 2022
As I had more time for this install, I went with brush this time round - which would give it a‘whole’new look but also allowed more detail for the project.
THE EAGLES DARE - 2022
The Eagle’s Dare is the coolest venue - it’s an old converted gas station turned into rock n’ roll venue with epic outdoor area’s and big function space out the back. Unfortunately, as I was there during the build I didn’t see it completed or have any pics - but did pinch some from google for you.
