Without a doubt one of the hardest projects of my career.
I decided to stop in Sydney on my way home from Melbourne for this project after working 14 huge days back-to-back - with a torn meniscus. It was tough but because it was just weeks before Christmas and I was leaving for Europe for a few months I didn’t really have options.
I remember everyday I’d get home as the sun was coming up (as I had to work through the night) and the inside of my knee was black with bruising. Was pretty intense but got it done and couldn’t be more proud of myself for pushing on because if I didn’t, I would have ruined someones Christmas as I was stacked up everyday before I left for Europe for the winter.
That said, the worst part about the damn mural was it’s so hard to capture. At a glance, it spreads across 3.5 stories - and covering every square inch of wall and ceiling. The objective was to turn the incredibly drab stairwell into a fresh, welcoming and unique addition to the already beautiful Hello Fresh HQ. That said, due to it being the main thoroughfare between the offices, the project had to be painted overnight.
Was a tough one but was a fun one - and I couldn’t have done it without the extra hands and hard work of Sydney based artist, Todd Bourke. Not only did Todd clock some serious hours with me - he really put in the work and did an amazing job - and I mean all of that.
Thanks again buddy. Also big thank you to Tom from Hello Fresh for the trust and opportunity.
