I mixed it up and froze my ass off in Scotland once again.
I was a little out of my comfort zone with this one as it’s quite different to anything I had done before …and because (like always) I was fucking freezing but couldn’t be more stoked now. Was a super fun project.
The design was inspired by Colin’s (owner) tattoo’s and love for geometric patterns. The “you are exactly where you need to be” was ...I can’t even remember where from? Maybe I made it up. Either way, it just came to me while thinking about the mural and just 'seemed right’ for the piece as it was relatable and relevant to both Colin and I. The text layout and design was inspired by a random sign I stumbled across in a small bar in Zaragoza, Spain …just a few days before. It all clicked. Now it’s a nice little reminder for everyone and little personal thing between Col and I.
So yeah, this was painted during the first week of January so obviously froze my cajones off …but as always, I had an amazing time with my Scottish fam so was worth it. It was my 3rd time to lil’ old Dundee (about 2 hours north of Glasgow) in as many years so it was great to go back and see everyone. No big wins at the casino this time sadly …but did learn how cold Scotland actually is in Winter and that paint can get too cold for masking tape to adhere - both sucked.
Edit: I ended up coming back in March and painted the floor next door.
