Deathproof is a creative, art-driven dive-bar specialising in unique, collaborative and dynamic activations. The Brisbane venue was the perfect combination of my love of art and design, inspiration from all of my favourite bars from all over the world and everything I just wanted in a bar. It was a one-of-a-kind venue, atmosphere and experience. Cafe all day, Party all night!
We spared no effort, expense or detail with the venue and brand or anything we did. I concepted the brand and designed, built and painted the venue (and everything in it ..and outside ..literally) as well as create the clothing brand, activate the venue and menu’s monthly - and ensure everything Deathproof did was “Different, Dynamic, Delicious.”
We didn’t play by the rules - always had a damn good time - and we were nominated by Australian Bartender Magazine as “Australia’s Best New Bar” and would be the first bar to ‘pop-up’ internationally, be endorsed by Converse and collaborate with New Era.

This is my first bar - and I’m not from the industry which I believe gives us a creative advantage and point of difference over most other venues. “Most bar owners are focused on running the bar. We’re focused on creatively marketing and using the space in an interesting way.”
The food is a refined take on American diner classics, with a few south-of-the-border influences. There’s street corn, wings, tacos and big sandwiches – with their branded twist. For the first activation with Sailor Jerry they’re using its spiced rum to glaze pulled pork for tacos, as well as in plenty of extravagant cocktails and shots.
Could the Staquiri be a thing? Well, if social media coverage counts for anything then the Staquiri, which sees Deathproof’s Millie Tang clamber up on the shoulders of a fellow bartender and pour out anywhere up to 10 Daiquiris stacked upon one another, well, it might be a thing.
“Fear The Reaper was all of the hottest ingredients you can imagine on a chilli infused bun. The fried chicken had Carolina reapers in the batter and sauce and the chips had chilli salt on them. You had to eat the entire thing in 2 minutes of less(with no drinks) and wash it down with a shot of our with our house made 42 below Carolina reaper vodka. More then 100 tried but only 4 were able to keep it down.” - Millie Tang

“Different, Dynamic and Delicious”was our mission and what we did best. Every month, we would collaborate with a brand and create an unmissable launch party and month long branded activation to boot! Each activation would see the main mural in the venue repainted, new and specialty menu’s incorporating the collab (drinks and food) and specials each month. Every day, we’d treat it like it’s our last!
The Deathproof guys aren’t messing around when it comes to killer eats and drinks. If the ‘party and bullshit’ neon sign hanging over the bar didn’t give you the hint, the team wants to make sure that if you’re there, you’re going to have a damn good time. -The Weekend Edition

In true Deathproof style,we were the first Australian bar to pop-up interstate and one of the only bars in the world to pop-up internationally. Below is quick look at our first activation at Australia’s largest and leading Tattoo Festival, Rites Of Passage. We took on the 30,000 strong event with 2 bars BEFORE we even officially opened our doors. We had nothing to lose and something to prove. The second recap is a glance at our back-to-back events in Helsinki, Finland with our friends Sailor Jerry.
