Another one of those projects whereas I felt like I wasn’t supposed to be there ha ha. The BMQ HQ is something else. I’ve never seen anything like it - and so incredibly humbled and proud to be involved and play such an exciting and integral part in Australian HQ.

”BMG is delighted to announce that with immediate effect it is launching its own standalone operation in Australia. It is the eleventh market in which BMG operates directly after Germany, the US, UK, France, Canada, Italy, Scandinavia, Spain, Benelux and China.”

And that said, before I get into it, I’d like to say one last thank you to the legend and Managing Director Heath Johns for the trust and honour.

While many studios feel like monochromatic ‘man caves’, every facet of The Gallery’s design is painstakingly bespoke with a design palette that more closely resembles a high-end hotel suite in Europe than a recording studio in inner Sydney.”

“Located on the top floor of a working art gallery, BMG’s The Gallery is a state-of-the-art, four-room recording studio unlike anything else in the world. Designed to inspire and ignite the senses, The Gallery is the only recording studio on the planet to feature Coelux lighting, a revolutionary new Italian skylight product that washes the entire studio in analogous sunlight at any time of the day (or night).

Not only a feat of audio engineering, The Gallery is also a feat of structural engineering. In order to support the 55 tonne structure in the penthouse of the building, more than 8 tonnes of structural steel was installed underneath the floor to support the mass required to create an optimal acoustic environment.

“The Gallery is our masterpiece - a place for our artists to play, listen and record in an environment that has been built exclusively for them.” - Heath Johns, Managing Director BMG Australia.
